English comedian, actress, singer and songwriter, screenwriter and director Victoria Wood CBE lost her battle with cancer on the 20th of April 2016.

After appearing on the TV talent show New Faces in 1974, she went on to write and star in some of the best breakthrough comedy in the late 70's and early 80's, such as; 

The Summer Show (1975) Wood and Walters (1981) and Victoria Wood as Seen on TV (1985)  

Her amazing talent continued into the 90's with Julie Walters and Friends (1991) Victoria Wood's All Day Breakfast (1992) Dinnerladies (1998) Victoria Wood with All the Trimmings (2000) Victoria Wood's Mid Life Christmas (2009), all this alongside her TV and theater achievements.

Victoria was a 14-time BAFTA TV Award nominee, winning four. She received a special BAFTA at a tribute evening in 2005.

Her quick wit and amazing memory ability ensures her comedy will be enjoyed by so many more in the future.
